Do you ever have them? You know, when you do something that is totally dumb, and don’t even realize you did it until later. I had one yesterday.
I found some job listings online and emailed them to a friend of ours. He works with my husband right now but wants to move back home whenever he can find employment there. He is from Idaho.
Well, I emailed him three jobs I’d found. A few hours later when I was telling my husband about it, what I’d done actually hit me. I sent him jobs in IOWA, not Idaho. Yep, the state abbreviation was IA. I KNOW that’s not right, but it didn’t hit me until that long after doing it. I emailed him today saying to disregard my earlier email. I know he’s going to think I lost my mind…lol.
Oh well, nothing else I can do about it.
Have you ever done something like that? I’m sorry to say that I have brain farts often. I can blame some of it on the fibromyalgia because it causes cognitive difficulties, but not all. I’ve did this type thing all my life. My Dad always used to say I should have been the blonde one. (I’m the only one of his kids that isn’t blonde)
Tell us about one of your brain fart moments!

Do you have some pet peeves? Things that really get on your nerves when you see others do them? I bet you do. Everyone has something that really burns their butt. Here are a few of my pet peeves.
-
I hate to see people with leashes on their children. I know they are trying to keep the kids from getting lost, but whatever happened to holding your child’s hand or putting them in a buggy? It just seems the lazy way out to me. We never lost our son when he was smaller and he didn’t wear a leash.
-
It drives me crazy when someone pulls out in front of me on the road and then goes ten miles an hour! If you’re going to pull out in front of someone at least get a move on.
-
People who talk on their cell phones while in line to give an order at a restaurant are just plain rude. They make it take extra time for everyone involved because the cashier has to wait for them to finish their conversation before taking their order. Talk after you’re done ordering!
-
What about people who blow snot out their nose in public? Don’t you just hate that? This one is mostly older guys. It’s just gross!
-
Picking your teeth while sitting at the table is not nice either. At least get a tooth pick if you have to get something out of your teeth right away.
Those are some of my worst pet peeves. What are some of yours?

How do you like that for a title, he he.
Do you ever hear a line in a song and just love it? A lyric that makes you think, or laugh out loud? I love when this happens!
The most recent lyric that has done this was in the song, ‘Angel’s Like Her’ by Trent Tomlinson. The lyrics go like this:
Yeah, she came straight from Heaven
But I know, the devil did too
Isn’t it just cool? The whole song is really good. Check the lyrics out for yourself and see. But that one line struck me for some reason. Makes you think, don’t it?
Another one that I like is from, ‘Guilty in Here’, by Miranda Lambert. Here are the lyrics:
But that boy’s like a sore in your mouth that you just have to bite
How true is that? And how painful! I think this is a cute lyric.
So what are some lyrics that you really like out of songs?

Scented candles are nice. They make the room smell better and there are even ones that help you to relax. What I don’t like, are ones that say they are scented and then aren’t. You light the candle, sit down to enjoy the aroma, and nothing happens. It’s frustrating.
I wonder why some manufacturers can get it right and others can’t? Do they not put enough scent products into the candle? Is it really one of those things were you get what you pay for? Are the really expensive scented candles a lot better than the cheaper ones? If anybody knows I’d love to hear!
I would like recommendations for scented candles that do smell, but aren’t overpowering. I don’t want something that’s really sweet smelling and will make me sick. Just a soothing smell that is nice.
If you have any ideas please let me know.

What a question, huh? But have you ever thought about it? They lay around half the day doing nothing. We keep them fed, clean, and healthy. If they get mad at us they tear up the furniture…with practically no consequences. Yeah, we might get on to them or punish them in some way right when it happens, but 30 minutes later if they rub up against our leg and meow we pick them right up. They’re just too damn cuddly!
They don’t have to work to survive. Listening to orders is out of the question. Most often they have the run of the house. Who wouldn’t like to be a cat! At least for a few days.
No responsibilities, unconditional love, and plenty of food. Sounds good to me. The only bad thing would be the hair balls.

We are finally getting some rain here in Alabama. It hasn’t rained hardly anywhere here in the last two weeks. It was beautiful those two weeks, but we do need rain ever now and then.
I feel sorry for my husband and others like him that has to work outside in this weather though. They get soaked to the bone. I don’t see how they keep from getting sick all the time. I guess you really do get used to it.
The worst thing for me about rainy days is that I get headaches. Almost every time it rains I’ll have one and today is no exception. Do any of you have weather related headaches? I have talked with other people who do so I know it’s fairly common.
At least I don’t have anything I have to do today and can stay inside.
What’s the weather like where you live this time of year?

Have any of your renewed your wedding vows? I really want to do this! My husband is up for the idea also. We just have to come up with the money to make it happen. Our twentieth wedding anniversary is in two more years. We are thinking of trying it then. Of course I’ve wanted to do it on our 10th and 15th anniversaries also and haven’t made it yet!
If you did renew your vows, how did you do it? Was it a big affair or very simple? Did you have a preacher or justice of the peace or was it just the two of you? Did you were formal or casual wear?
I’ve did some reading up on the subject lately and it seems anything goes for renewal services. You can make them as grand or as simple as you wish. Everything I’ve read said it depends on how the first wedding was done to some extent. For example, if you had a very small inexpensive wedding the first time then you might want to do it up big for the renewal service. If you had a very lavish wedding then the renewal service might just be more a dinner party type event.
There are some things that are no no’s for renewal services. Every place I read said this.
· No attendants
· No bachelor or bachelorette parties
· Don’t register for gifts
Makes sense if you think about it. Those are all things for people getting married the first time. Old married couples have already done them.
We are really thinking of doing this. We don’t want a really big renewal service, but not the dinner party type either. Our first wedding was very simple. It cost less than 500.00 if that tells you anything. We had a cake, preacher, and little reception. The reception foods were the cake, chips, and cokes. We were only 17 and 18 years old at the time, so didn’t have a lot of money.
We’d like to make the renewal a little better than that. We enjoyed our first wedding and everything has worked out, but a more traditional wedding would be nice. We want the world to know that we still love each other and want to be together. I think that’s what renewal services are all about!
If anybody has had a renewal service I’d love to hear from you.

My son likes the new Knight Rider show that’s out now. He knows nothing about the old version. The new show is totally different, but it sure does bring back memories of childhood.
A friend of mine on MyLot started a discussion today about the Harlem Globetrotters. She wanted to know if anyone remembered them and had actually seen them perform in person. I remembered them, but had never seen them play. I mostly remember them for the cartoon Scooby Doo. I think I may have seen a few of them doing interviews at one time or another, but mostly it brought back memories of the old cartoon.
My son loved Scooby doo when he was little. It’s great that some of the old cartoons are still around. Television has changed so much over the years, and it’s nice to know that kids can still enjoy simpler shows.
Has anything happened to you lately that brought back childhood memories?

I live in Alabama and we’ve been having lots of problems finding gas lately. We had to drive to four different stations the other night before we found one that had any gas. They only had premium, but at least it was something.
My husband said he’s heard this is only a problem for people in the south east. He has a friend that said his brother in law drives a gas truck and that they have gas available, just aren’t handing it out. Makes no sense to any of us. What are they saving the gas for?
At first it was because of the storm. They were only able to work at half capacity or something is what we were told. But now it’s supposed to be better. I did see a news report that one station had gas, but had put up signs saying they were out, because the corporate office said he couldn’t sell it…the price on the pump wouldn’t go up high enough!
Hopefully they’ll get this fixed soon. I wonder how many people are missing work in the south because they can’t get enough gas to make it back and forth.
Are you having this problem where you live?

Yep, my husband made me buy some new clothes. He said he was tired of seeing me wear the same two pair of pants all the time. You see, I’ve been trying to lose weight. Even though I’ve been doing really good with my eating and getting in exercise, I’m not losing, just maintaining my weight. It’s very frustrating. If you’d like to read about the weight loss struggle from Hell, check out my other blog called Health and Happiness.
Anyway, the other day we went to Kohl’s and I got four new outfits. I feel so much better in my new clothes! I’m still the same weight obviously, but I look better in them. I bought some boot cut jeans which look better on me with my big booty. The pants I had before were tapered. All you women know how bad that is!
Hopefully I will lose a few pounds soon. Even if I do, I will still be able to wear the new clothes for a while. I’m so short that it takes around twenty pounds before I can really tell a difference in the way my clothes fit.
If you need new clothes and are waiting until you lose weight, don’t! Go buy some new duds! You won’t regret it.
