Night Stalker-Waiting

Here’s the next segment. Things are starting to get serious now!

You can read the whole story by following the links in the side bar.

The traps were all set, everyone was watching their backs, and tension was high. It had been a week and nothing was happening. Some in the group were thinking the Elders weren’t coming.

Nathaniel knew they were coming. He could feel it.

“Where are they, Nathaniel?” Susan demanded. “It’s been a week with no sign of the all-powerful Elders. Why haven’t they killed us already,” she smirked.

Nathaniel sighed, “You will be sorry for what you’ve brought about here, Susan. Nothing will be the same again. We’ve been left alone to do as we please. It will be different after this…if we survive.”

“You’re scared shitless aren’t you?” she scoffed. “I can’t believe how everyone talks about the Elders. They’re just a bunch of old vampires that know nothing of the world. They live on a mountain in some backwards country, for God’s sake!”

“Those old vampires have been around for centuries. They know more about the world than we ever will. The blood of thousands runs in their veins. Don’t you realize how much power that is?”

“So what. It’s not like we haven’t taken our share of outsiders too,” Susan replied with a shrug.

“I’m not talking about outsiders.”

I hope I can pull this part of the story off. I’ve never written anything like it!
